Old Askean AGM and Dinner Thursday 4th July

This will take place at Royal Blackheath Golf Club starting at approx 7pm

Annual General meeting & dinner – Thursday 4th July 2019

Well it’s that time of the year again and we need your support for the AGM and for those of you who want to join up with fellow Old Askeans, friends and relatives, we have a splendid dinner to follow. All are welcome. Royal Blackheath is the world’s oldest golf club and has wonderful facilities. It is easily accessible by public transport (bus route 161 from Eltham or Mottingham train station) and has a large secure car park.
 
You have a choice of menu and may choose two or three courses. If you opt for two
courses, you can have an appetiser and main or a main and pudding. Tickets cost
£35.00 for three courses or £30.00 for two courses excluding drinks. Drinks should
be ordered and paid for at the bar before dinner and will be brought to you at your table.
Jugs of water will be on your table.
 
The AGM begins at 7.00pm and dinner will be served in the dining room at 8.00pm.
 
If you wish to attend the dinner would you kindly complete and return the form below to me before Wednesday 19th June 2019 ( we have to inform them two weeks in advance ) indicating your menu choices. The lounge bar will be available until dinner for those not attending the business meeting, and afterwards until 11.00pm.

Medallion of Beef, Grain Mustard Mash & Madeira jus or
Fillet of Sea Bass, Grain Mustard Mash, Fennel Cream Sauce with Roasted Vegetables,
wilted spinach & cherry tomatoes
 
Pudding
Lemon & Lime Pannacotta, Citrus Curd & Spring Berries or
Dark Chocolate Mousse, Milk Chocolate Marscapone, White Chocolate Shard, Spring
Berries & Salted Caramel
 
Tea or Coffee
Pay bar available before and after dinner

Dinner in the superb surroundings of the club house of the world’s oldest golf club. If

City Diners – 26 July 2019, The George at Southwark

Once again I have awaited the fairer weather to appear before setting the date for this year’s Old Askean City Diners Summer  Ladies’ Lunch.   We will be revisiting The George Inn at the Borough on Friday 26th July, sitting down at 1:00pm.

Please invite your partners and any other guests who may wish to dine in historic surroundings in a convivial atmosphere.  As always, we especially welcome Old Askeans who may not have previously attended (even if not members of the Association). At our last function, we had 3 members who attended for the first time.  The cost of the 3 course meal remains at the astonishingly value-for-money price of £37.00 including wine.  I will circulate the menu next month and, those of a more delicate nature, may wish to opt for a 2 course meal.

So, ensure you put this date in your diary and please let me have your intention to attend with numbers and names of guests
